I have an obsession with mountains! My partner and I trekked to Everest Base Camp back in 2018 and one day, I would love to have a go at climbing the biggest mountain in the world. I see Mont Blanc as a major achievement as it’s the biggest mountain in Western Europe and a fantastic opportunity to raise as much money for the MND Association as possible. The care my Mum received during her illness was fantastic and I would like to do something to raise money to help others.
In preparation for this I have been training extensively. Trips to the Lake District (and soon Snowdonia) to get some miles and elevation under my belt. Along with lots of cycling, running and a strict diet.
I am travelling out to Chamonix on the 10th September 2020 to spend a few days acclimatising in the mountains.
On Sunday 13th September I will commence the summit phase.
Depending on the weather and conditions I may spend either one or two nights in mountain huts to maximise the chance of success.
If the weather is kind (and my body lets me!) I will either summit Mont Blanc on Tuesday 15th or Wednesday 16th September.
