Come along to St Mary’s church in Fishponds, BS16 2JB on Sunday 9th December at 7pm for an evening of song and music to get you in the festive mood.
Tickets cost £5 per adult and entry for children is free. All proceeds will go to the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) to support the valuable work they do.
Refreshments will be available in the interval for a small donation.
Tickets are available from band members or they can be reserved using the following email address: [email protected]
The performers on the evening will be:
Westerly Winds: Are a very friendly local windband that enjoy performing a wide variety of music under the leadership of Andy Loveridge. The band is a member of the Avon Wind Band Association (AWBA) and always welcomes new players.
Emma Spillane: Is a classically trained musician, having taken up the piano and violin from an early age. Vocally she has performed with several auditioned choirs over the years, including the Bristol Schools Choir and the University of Kent Chamber Choir in a wide variety of prestigious venues across the UK and Europe. She now trains with Claire Delaney, creator and Producer of House of Broadway, and is enjoying expanding her solo repertoire with mostly classical and musical theatre numbers. Emma also enjoys performing locally with Business Choir.
Avon Harmony Chorus: Are a group of diverse women from Bristol’s original all female barbershop chorus. They enjoy singing barbershop and A Cappella from genres from contemporary to vintage music.

Each month there are support meetings across the region where people with MND, their carers, friends and family can get together. The meetings are informal and are good place to share advice and experience.
There are currently three Support Group meetings in the area – Bath, Weston-super-Mare, and Melksham. The dates, times and venues are listed on our events page.
Please contact Neil Drinkwater for more info and to let him know if you are thinking of coming. He can also arrange transport too. Email Neil: [email protected] or call 07831 349398.
Over the next two years the Support Volunteer Project will be looking at how the Association could provide even bigger, better volunteer support for people affected by MND.
That could mean:
- Growing our network, especially in areas with few volunteers.
- Looking at new volunteer roles or looking again at roles which have been trialed locally.
- Exploring new ways of volunteering.
- Further improving the Association Visitor service, including learning from local best practice.
As the project kicks off, we are keen to hear your ideas for improvements (big or small). And every suggestion you make will receive a response.
For more information about the Support Volunteer Project and how to give us your ideas please see www.mndassociation.org/supportvolproject.
